Jamboard is an interactive presentation tool technology created by Google. Through Jamboard you can create unique power points to use in your classroom. You can have up to 20 slide in each board and up to 50 people on each board, this is perfect for all your students to be able to access. There are pre-made templates that you have access to, or you can make your own! You are able to change backgrounds, text size and color, add images, sticky notes, shapes, and drawings! Jamboard is engaging and simple to use! You can use this tool tech for content, review, or fun interactive activities in your classroom.
I can see myself using Jamboard, however, I prefer some of the other tool techs I have covered. I think Lumio and Wizer were more teacher friendly to use. Both Lumio and Wizer had more activities and options to create your own unique content. I would prefer to use them over Jamboard due to their multiple options and easier usage. I didn’t feel like I was able to express what I wanted for my activities with the resources from Jamboard. That being said, Jamboard is still effective and usable for teachers and students! Jamboard ties into the Danielson Framework for Teaching in multiple components, especially 1e and 3b. 1e, designing coherent instruction, is shown as teachers are able to use Jamboard to create content for their students. This instruction can be through power point slides or interactive activities. 3b, questioning and discussion techniques, Jamboard is a great place to have questions with student responses. You can easily have a discussion where students add their input through text boxes or sticky notes. This tool tech also implements the ISTE standards for teachers and students. For teachers, 2.4 collaborator can be easily demonstrated through collaborating with students to create higher level discussions and material. Teachers can work with students to create authentic learning experiences. For students, 1.6 creative communicator can be demonstrated through their responses to the teachers questions and activities throughout the content given. Students can communicate complex ideas clearly through Jamboard. Overall, Jamboard is a quick way to create a quality lesson with interactive components. Personally, I would choose a different tool tech to create my content, like Wizer or Lumio. Nonetheless, Jamboard is still effective and easy for teachers to navigate. |
